Barbara Gerard is a native New Yorker who is heavily inspired by seascapes and nature scenes. A multimedia artist, Barbara focuses primarily on painting in acrylics and incorporates sand, stone and texture into her paintings. Her work had been featured in solo shows in New York City, East Hampton and Fort Lauderdale, and her work is included in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Crafts, BBD&0 Advertising, Chemical Bank, and private collections. Barbara has studied with Helen Frankenthaler, Esteban Vicente, and Hale Woodruff. She has also been featured in such publications as House Beautiful, Arts Magazine, Arts News, and Park East Review, among others. Barbara earned a Masters in Art from New York University and attended classes at the Art Students League. She is affiliated with the Viridian Gallery in NYC, The Artist Alliance of East Hampton and Guild Hall. Barbara’s work evolved over the years from female’s figures to abstract landscapes.
